Nine Ladies Dancing (The REAL Twelve Days of Christmas)

The Real Twelve Days of Christmas

Merry ninth day of Christmas!

The Christmas season, or Christmastide, doesn’t actually begin until Christmas Day, lasting for the next twelve days until the Feast of Epiphany on January 6, and celebrating the Incarnation: “God With Us”! These are the days referred to in the popular Christmas carol. So, we’re celebrating each day with a short explanation and thought. If you’re coming into the series late, click here to start with the first day:)

Here’s day nine of the real twelve days of Christmas:

On the ninth day of Christmas, my True Love gave to me nine ladies dancing…

These dancing ladies represent the fruit of the Spirit:

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law. Galatians 5: 22-23

There’s so much that could be said about the fruit of the Spirit, but I’m just going to mention one unique resource for you to check out: The Fruitful Wife: Cultivating a Love Only God Can Produce by Hayley DiMarco. This book applies the fruit of the Spirit specifically to marriage and family, with a chapter devoted to each quality. I really enjoyed it!
